I was reading the beginners guide to overclocking (This One and it talks about overclocking your ram:

"To overclock RAM, you just enter the BIOS and attempt to run the RAM at a higher speed than it is rated at. For instance, you could try to run PC-3200 (DDR 400) RAM at a speed of 210MHz, which would be 10MHz over the rated speed. This could work, but in some cases it will cause the system to crash."

how the F do you get you change the speed of your RAM like that? IN my bios (asus a8v-deluxe) there is nothing at all about changing the speed of RAM in Mhz....only the cas/tras/etc. timings.....how do I do change the speed of the RAM in Mhz.?

You can't determine the speed of your RAM independently from your FSB/HTT--the RAM speed is calculated by taking the FSB/HTT speed as a base and then applying a divider to it. The standard divider is 1:1, where the first number represents the RAM's speed, and the bottom number represents the HTT/FSB speed. By upping the HTT/FSB, you also up the RAM. However, by lowering the divider, you can up your FSB/HTT without upping your RAM's speed. (For example, if I have my FSB/HTT at 250Mhz, but run a divider of 4/5ths, then the total speed of my RAM would be 250 *(4/5)=200.)
