Well... my last boss told me that he wanted me to call him personally, before usual operating hours, if I needed to stay home for whatever reason (which is like.... ummmm.... yeah, and?).

I'm still not sure if he realizes you can leave a message for someone without ringing their phone.

I want to call in sick again today, I left school early because I feel bad. I can't call in again though, because I have to make up those 8 hours next week. 16 would be way too many to make up.

masturbate furiously for 3 hours. Then call in. With a little luck, you will sound sufficiently exhausted enough to convince anyone.

(1.) pick up phone
(2.) dial work #
(3.) ask for manager
(4.) tell her I'm sick
(5.) go back to bed

Last time I called in sick, I actually did so via email. I get to work some two and a half hours before my boss, so I would have to wake up and get back out of bed to make the call. It's easier just to pop on the PC, fling an email off, and when he gets in, he'll see it.

I call up, but I always do it before anyone comes into the office, so I get to leave voice mail.

just dont call in...when they call you pick up the phone and start making sex noises...they are guarunteed to hang up (unless they are kinky) and you wont have to deal with it until later :D

nah...i just call manage and let him know i am not feeling well...if he gives me sh1t, i hang up and call a dif manager...one of them is bound to be like 'ok, feel better'

then when i come in the next day...the other one is like.,.wtf why werent u here..i'm like...he (point at the manager who said it was ok) said i didnt have to, :p

Nice and vague, and legally, they can not ask me to define "not feeling well". So, it works out nice.

yeah this seems to work well for me too

Well, I may not be the best example of what you're looking for since I usually don't call in sick unless I'm actually *GASP* sick...

But, it usually goes something like this:

"Hey boss, I'm not going to [boss interrupts"
"YOU'RE NOT COMING IN HERE SOUNDING LIKE THAT... KEEP DAT SHIZNIT TO YO SELF"

I paraphrased, but that's the jist.

I never heard of this before. So you're saying they can't ask you why you're not feeling well or what's causing you to not feel well?

I e-mail in sick too. If you're required to call in, make sure you call before your boss gets in so that you can just leave him/her a voice mail rather than having to speak to the person.

If you have to speak to them, make sure you put on an Oscar worthy performance.

In my high school, you actually did receive a reward for not getting sick for the whole year, and an even bigger one if you didn't get sick all of high school. It was even announced at graduation with all the other awards. lol.
