how do you answer your phone?/ whats the best answering machine message?

i usually say "whats up?"
it not the normal hello 🙂

answering machine= i personally like the one where you say "Hello?...... Hello?...... Helooooooo!!!!. Muwahahahha! gotcha didnt i? leave a message
 
At work: "[insert my compnay name here], this is Robyn, how may I help you?"

At home: "What up?" or "Hello? Helloooo?!"

Cell phone: "Speak."

at work.. in a half pissed off tone - "OPERATIONS.... "

and on my cell 99% of the time I know who it is w/ caller id and i say "yeah.."

In all reality, I usually say "This is Greg"
 
for landline phone: "hello"

for my cell phone, it gets a bit more complicated. since i use different ring tones for different groups of ppl, i either have them on no ring so it goes straight to voicemail, or i look at the name and see who it is. if its a best friend, ill answer "hey wassup". if its my gf, "hi baby". for unknown, a simple "hello" but since this is cingular service i use, for the most part i wont get the call and they'll go to voicemail.

If it's my best friend, "sup dork" or "whats going on you ugly sh|thead." For others it's usually a plain "hello."
 
Usually just the regular hello, but sometimes I like to speak in a funny voice when I answer the phone just to piss off those that are phoning, and cause I think it is funny.

that would make me crack up if i called someone and they just grunted...
or the house of the lord would crack me up pretty bad too 🙂

I enjoy pissing off agressive sales people. I act like I'm totally interested in product and ask them all the possible questions about the product, payment and other associated stuff and I'll affirm what they have to say, give them some counter argument, affirm and finally say yes I'd like to buy it, and right when they ask for my info, I'll say oh never mind. Have a sweet day. They usually say have a nice day in very pissed tone.

lol...that's great.

I usually just say "hello", but my roommate at college is a freaking psycho, this is what he does when the phone rings:

Gives me a "shocked" look (like the cops are after him) , then I say pick it up!, then he lets it ring one more time, then he picks it up like the way cops do when they try to trace calls (with 2 hands, one picking it up and the other pressing some button). It gets annoying.
 
pick up and say "cactus".. then the only word yer allowed to use is cactus.. vary your town and speed 😀 btw, i've done this.. at least 3-4 times before.. its hilarious.. my father didnt think so, but my 2 friends did.... and some random guy freaked and hung up right away

I don't know why, but that sounded really funny to me. *Says "cactus" outloud a few times* <giggles> *Says it some more* <giggles>
