How do women with high heels shift?

I was thinking of this and was thinking it would be pretty difficult to shift in high heels? Do they take their shoes off? Is driving without shoes illegal?

Beat me, I'd ask my wife but she doesn't drive a stick.

I frequently drive barefoot though.

Driving without shoes is not illegal.

Working the pedals is properly done with the toes and balls of the feet, not the heels, so high-heels should not matter. My GF never seems to have problems driving stick in heels.

After rethinking the question, I do believe, they would just use their arm to move the stick to the next gear.

What about other countries where the majority of women drive manuals, it would be curious to see how women drive with high heels.

Yea women don't drive manual, so they simply never run into a situation like this.

For any that do, they'll either a) not wear heels, or b) have a pair of sandals or something in the car so that they can put those on while driving - and then put the heels back on once they've arrived at their destination.

I don't know about high heels but I find it awkward driving a manual with sandals on. The flexing of the sandals makes it hard to get good pressure and contact with the pedal.

*pffft* My GF not only drives manual, she auto-x's down at the track. She could probably drive circles around you in her '01 Impreza 2.5RS. And she would have no trouble doing so in heels. Like I already said, proper pedal work is not done with the heels.

99% of girls in England drive stick. I don't think I've met a girl that drives an auto actually.
