Say you live in Arizona in August. It's been over 100 degrees outside for over a week, and you get your water from a somewhat shallow well. When you turn that Cold spigot, do you still get Cold water? I wouldn't think so.

Sure you will. Just not as cold as if the well were deeper.

Ever been spelunking? It's pretty dang cold down there.
