how do u organize mp3 ?

do u put all songs in a single folder or
different artist / album has each folder ?

I am having problem with adding song to the winamp playlist...

is there a way winamp will update the playlist in a particular folder when I add new song to that folder ?

I just keep each album in it's own folder and all the singles I download get put into one folder.

I have all my metallica mp3s organized by album.. heh

I have My Music Folder.

I then have Genre Folders (Classic Rock, Alternative/New Rock, Classical, etc.)

Then in those I organize by Artist.

I also download everything into a downloads directory first so I can fix tags & filenames before organizing them.

yeah, I have a few dirs where the files go if they're dled on their own, so i can check tags and quality, before I move them into a specific singles folder. (I also have different singles folders from different times, since I kinda remember when I dled what). Other than that, I have a crapload of albums, and most of what I dl is just from IRC, so everything comes in one big archive, and that gets unpacked straight into a new folder.

I organize them by artist->album->disk. For what it's worth, I use Ogg Vorbis music files instead of MP3s.

Yup, nothing pisses me off more than improperly capitalized filenames 😛

I then organize everything alphabetically by artist.

I have a folder for each artist, then in each artist's folder is a collection of assorted songs and/or folders containing albums. I've also got an unsorted folder, which is where everything else goes (or for artists for whom I only have a couple songs).
