Not neccesarily, migraines could be brought on by environmental conditions out of her control. If it's a repeated thing at that age, that's when you need to worry. If it happens once as an isolated event it's not that bad.

But a migraine hasn't been established here. His mom could have a multitude of things going wrong. There is no way to tell unless medical attention is received.

Ive had one migrane in my life driving on a 5 hour trip. I dunno how I got it but it was pouring very badly out and I could barely see and I thought I would die. I finally got to my destination somehow(pure hell for like 3 hours) and got to my hotel and puked all over. Seriously the worst experience and painful in my life. I thought I was going out of my mind...Thankfully this has not happened since.

I get them almost daily, what you described doesn't sound like a migraine. Does she get vision blurring? Tracers on her vision? Stomach ache, vomiting, numbness in limbs, etc?

What you have is called a "brain cloud". You only have, at the most, 30 days to live. Now, go throw yourself into a volcano.

I have them often. CorpRec has the same symptoms as me. It is the crappiest feeling ever. No pain killer works. Only sleeping it off

Tried to find info online but couldn't - is there any link between taking expired Tums and migraines? I had taken a Tums yesterday because my stomach was bothering me. Not less than 5 min. afterwards I experienced the blind spot in my eye, the nausea and then a severe headache. My eyes still feel weak today and I have a slight headache. 'course only after taking the Tums did I realize it had an expiration date of Jan. 2004...

I'm guessing though it was due to stress since I was preparing for a meeting that I was somewhat nervous for. I also was working late the night before.

The first time I ever had a horrible, horrible headache like that is when I found out that I had a brain tumor. (10 years ago and it's now gone) I'm not saying that's what hers is/was, but consulting a physician is always a good idea when it persists or there is any doubt. :)

Take your mother to a doctor, now!

This is really your best bet. However, if you are going to simply go with the over the counter meds I would highly recommend Excedrin Tension Headaches or Migraine Headaches. I prefer Tension Headaches med b/c of the ingredients but they are almost identical and each contain caffeine. Have her take 2 of either!

I believe the difference is Tension contains 500 mg of Tylenol while Migraine contains 500 mg of Advil.

a migrane feels like you are wearing a hat that is too tight. If you get around bright light, things moving quickly, loud sounds... basically anything that works your senses hard... it feels like the "hat" gets tighter, then vvveeeerrrrryyyy slowly loosens. They often make you (or at least made me) vomit to feel better, make you very tired, sometimes really hot, sometimes really cold...

...Basically, they are a big sensory overload with some rough pressure on your head.

For me, Ill know the migraine is coming when I start bugging out cause I start seeing things. Its hard to describe, but pretty similar to being on acid in one eye.

Then about half hour later, Ill feel the hammer coming down. Time to go hide in the closet, and bring my puke bucket with me. I also find that smoking a small amount of weed tends to take a little of the pressure off. :)

what he said. I used to get them daily when I was a child, now only when I run myself down. Typical symptoms for me: Stomach ache/cramps, dizzyness and vomiting.
