that is aboslutly false... he was not eaten he was bitten in half...
they dont like how we taste they have proved it over and over again...

the only thing that lures them is our shape...

this was a typical mistaken identity attack profile again... shark hits... realiszes its not a juicy blubbery seal and then doesnt come back and finish the attack becasue it wasnt what he thought it was..
if the shark had liked what it hit it would have come back and finshed the job...

same with every single white shark attack on file... hit taste.. release...

now on the other hand watch what happens when the shark likes what it hits..
there are vidoes all over the net of whites hitting seals the first time then devoring the remains...
this is just stupid humans wanting revenge nothing more...

do some research on the world wide shark attack files and behavoirs of sharks before you spew worthless untrue information like this...

As I said before the ONLY reason this was a fatal hit most likely...

#1 this was a VERY large white.. 20 feet...bite radius prolly > torso of average human

#2 it hit him in the torso... stead of one of his limbs.... or a surfboard as is usally the case with surfers that survive....

Spring Break Shark Attack?

Did anyone see that last night? Sadly, I was on the way back from Nashville and was unable to partake of what appeared (from the trailers anyway) to be a fine, fine theatrical masterpiece.

Twelve other passengers and crew from the catamaran Matrix watched the attack in horror, with some
saying the shark went straight for Brazier. Several other divers who were in the water with him were
unhurt.

"It came in, bit him in half, went away for five or 10 minutes then came back for the other half,"
said Steve Thorne, a manager for the company that operated the boat charter.

Yeah, they tend to say that by default unless they were around to recieve at least on-the-scene medical attention. If the medics get there post-death, it was "instantaneous" just to make things easier to swallow.

better article

It's stupid how they talk that sharks have too much protection. The ocean is theirs not ours, just because we can swim and have boats and stuff doesnt mean we were meant to be in the ocean.

Some marine conservationists argue that because the ocean is sharks? natural home, they have as much right to be there as human bathers.

And worse then both would be getting attacks by monkeys. Seriously, those are some powerful, mean little bastards. And they tear your testicles off.

Heh, funny, but your confusing monkeys with chimps isn't. You don't call dolphins fish do you? (I'm still cringing over that story, but I think I'd rather square off against an enraged chimp on land then wait for it from a shark whilst paddling around in the water.)

Nah they gave up on the search. they will never find the body or the shark.

even if there was remains of the body, it was probably eaten by other sharks.

(oh....so.....baaaad)

Now that's something I didn't expect to hear =0þ

I don't see why they want to hunt down the shark, though. It's really terrible, just like humans back in the "omg hunt teh wolfz0rs" era.

I bet everyone else got back on the boat FAST

Yeah, and CBS has some kind of faux Spring Break shark attack on tommorrow where a bunch of people get attacked by sharks. Being attacked by a shark is about my least favorite way that I'd want to die. That or being crushed to death.
Or in a fire. Or drowning.

Awh hell, let's face it.. the only "good" way to die is in your sleep or a bullet to the head, lol.

Edit: Oh, and he most certainly didn't "die" instantly. If he got cut apart below the heart, he was around for longer than you'd want to be, having been just cut in half.. even if it was only for a second or two. He at least got an "Oh sh!t" in.

:p

And imagine the pain from the salt water. Oweeee

sharks normally take a few test bites if they're not sure something is edible. Most humans resemble seals, to sharks, especially surfers. Sharks also strike from the shadows of deep water to the surface, and they try to kill something as fat as possible and eat it as fast as possible inorder to take as much food for themselves. So most likely he died instantly?

the only thing that lures them is our shape...

That and electrical interference "signature" patters people create when paddling around at the surface.

I conducted research ten years ago to this month on the electrical reception of the nurse shark. The leopard shark (triakis sp.) was also a good candidate for our smaller test tank of 22,000 liters. Their ampullae of Lorenzini are quite developed as are most carcharinidae - members of the true requiems.

Rufus - GC-294, was transported to NAIB on June 30, 1995. He was the only sexually active nurse shark in captivity ever! I should check up to see how he's doing. :)
