How do they put the "M" on m&m's? Anybody know. A beautiful lady at work asked me that today.

They lay them all out on a long tray and a stamp puts the M on...at least that's how they do Jelly Belly, I imagine it's the same for all candies.

HURRY! You don't have much time!!!!

Forget the keys, RUN to the nearest BlockBuster and ask someone at the desk about a movie entitled, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory".

If you're really lucky they'll have it, it's a rare flick.

To get the (color) paint perfectly on all sides they put the candies in a bin, like a cement truck which tumbles them over and over to evenly distribute the paint. To get the "M" on the candies, they are placed in trays like you would a muffin (trays with lots of dimples in them) and then are stamped with the "M."

This is a "microsoft" job interview question and there was a story about it in Reader's Digest a year or so ago. There was also a question about why Man Hole Covers are round rather than square. If you want that answer you can PM me, not going to type it all out.

yea I went to the Jelly Belly factory and they explained and showed how they put the Jelly Belly writing on it. I'm guessing it would be similar.

They had a large conveyor belt with tiny holes for jelly bellys, the would all be lined up one in each hole, and run through this machine that stamped each row perfectly with the letters. Pretty cool

sorry if this explanation was lame lol

Tiny elves wear "M" stamps on their feet and frolic from candy to candy leaving whimsical letters wherever they fall...
