But there are thousands, if not millions, that spend their money that way. The government can't give out shelter for all of them.

LOL, this thread can't be headed anywhere good.

In a nutshell, someone will always have better sh!t than you. Pvssies will sit and complain about it, e-thugs will try to figure out a way to get better stuff, and people of solid character will judge themselves not by what he does or doesn't own.

Well there must be a certain amount of debt you owe where it leads to getting arrested or something of the sort? I'm not familiar with what actually happens.

Um... no. You get into debt and the creditors (or collection agencies hired by the creditors) will come after you. Your credit score is in shambles (don't expect to get a loan on for that house anytime soon). They contact you at home and at work (you can easily get fired for these types of calls at work) to make you pay. If you can't/don't work out a payment and don't declare bankruptcy, they may sue you before the statue of limitations on that debt expires. But people can't go to jail for having a debt.

We had a guy that worked in our store. He always wore very expensive clothes. He wore a stupid looking sweater with a rhino on it he bragged cost him $300. He drove a new car with a retarded looking fin on the back of it (ala Fast & The Furious).

I knew how much he made so it didn't take calculus to know that he was spending more than he was making.

As it turned out, per the video in our store... he had stolen about $30k worth of merchandise and pocketed several thousand dollars worth of cash sales over the course of about nine months.

Rats have a unique smell... Generally speaking your first instincts are usually going to be right.

No. But people do go to jail for fraud. There's a fine line, and it's easily crossed. If you get into the habit of using credit cards that you have no intention of paying (that's legal, sadly), you will find it quite easy to use somebody else's credit card, or any number of things that are illegal.

And, it happens at all income/race/etc levels - from the ghetto to Enron and everywhere in between.

There's your answer. They probably steal it all..

They can't steal it all man. I lived in a crappy ghetto neighborhood for over a year, and i have seen where they shop. I actually saw a guy buy 4 jerseys in 1 day. Thats over $300 on a piece of sh1t oversized shirt that rips easily.

yiou cant say ghetto dude...
