How do shuttle SSFs overclock?

I am thinking about getting an Athlon system like the SN41G2v2 or the SN45G. Which one is better in overclocking? I know the Shuttle SN41G2v2 has the integrated chip and older chipset.

In the P4 arena, they have the SB75G2.

My question is how do they overclock? That is my main criteria. I plan to buy some good chips and memory.

the SN41G2v2 pretty much uses the same motherboard as the SN45Gv2 except the SN41G2v2 has integrated video. If you do use the integrated video, you will have a harder time OCing b/c of the memory. I currently own a SN41G2v2 and I'm running 11x200 no problems with a 2400+ mobile cpu. My idle temps are 39 and my load are 44. If you want more info, go check out forums.sudhian.com and go to the Shuttle board. Hope you get a Shuttle and enjoy the mini-toaster

I have a 2400+ t-bred B in my SN45G doing 2.33ghz@1.75v 333DC-DDR synch mode. That is using the I.C.E. cooler with the fan set maually to high. on the newer version you shouldn't touch the vDIMM though as it often nukes the board I've read.

SN45G here also, XP2500+ > XP3200+

Only mod was change the ICE fan to a quieter one... the downside is that the fan has less CFM.

thanks man. btw, the SN45 looks "older" in terms of cosmetics than the SN41. that is one reason why i want the SN41. i also don't have a video card yet.

anyone have a intel SSF?

You'll find a lot more info over there. "Shuttle XPC" section

Sure. I have an SB61G2 running a 2.4C @ 3GHz, default voltage. That includes a 9800, 1 gig of PC3500, Combo drive, and Maxtor 80 gig 8 meg HDD. Temps are good, but I haven't played with the voltages.

Well, even with a SilenX 250 watt powersupply, I cannot OC my 2.4C beyond 3.0Ghz (250fsb), and I know this chip can do 3.4ghz on default vcore. I 've tested a 2.8 and also a 3.2 on my SB75G2, and they don't overclock anywhere near their respective max OCs on my main rig with a 550watt power supply.

Well, I ran a 2.4Ghz P4B at 2.9 without issues in my SB51G, but have mostly read that if overclocking's your gambit, then you should stick with towers.

My DigiDice didn't overclock for crap, FWIW.

I'd also point you to forums.sudhian.
extensive reviews/opinions on more SFFs than you knew existed.

but unless you're looking to get one of these, SFFs just aren't going to give you enough cooling performance to overclock like crazy.

good luck
