If you know what I mean. Serious question.

Do you think they break the commandment and just ask for reconciliation?

There is no commandment against masturbation. So what reconciliation do they have to seek?

but it's a sin.

Link? :p

trust me, it is. i went to a catholic middle school and high school. masturbation is regarded as being selfish.

So your middle and high school teachers have a better idea of what qualifies as sin than the indirect author of the Bible? That would God just in case I'm going too fast. Somehow, I have a hard time buying that one.

I guess not then. I've been brainwashed.

Well, at least you're honest. Admitting there's a problem is the first step to getting help ;)

No but seriously, as I understand it, those who commit to celibacy talk about it like it's a wonderfully personally fulfilling experience...

Self-delusion is a wonderful thing...

They just wash their hands with holy water afterwards, and it's all good.

What about the bible verse: "If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off".

I'm pretty sure that is a reference to jerking off. But it doesnt say anything about the left hand... maybe God just wanted to give us a challenge...

OP and title should be changed to include the word "Catholic" after "priest"... AFAIK other Christian denominations (Orthodox, for instance) don't have the interdictions for priests to marry... on the contrary... the graduates of Christian Orthodox theological schools and seminaries WILL NOT obtain a parish UNLESS they are married.
