People are the same way about their cars.....even their money!

In days gone buy a person pbtained lots of practical knowledge out of neccessity.

Today we are so specialised we are willing to pay for even the most mundane tasks.

When someone complains about the cost of living I start questioning them and usually find they waste as much money as it takes to live on....

i'm still up for having to have a lisence to use a computer. I'm sure the tech support community would be thankful for something like that ;)

I can't tell you how many times I've been through this:

Me: Open up your web browser and go to...
Them: What's that?
Me: It's the big blue E icon.
Them: Oh, I've never used that. I use AOL.

AOL. So easy to use, no wonder every moron that thinks Packard-Bell makes good computers is on the internet. :disgust:

Chiwawa,

This is not so bad my friend. What is really bad is when people use search engine results as their own work and make everyone think they are a genius.

Not true. If only computer literate people used computers, support calls would go WAY down, and there would be a lot of unemployed tech support people.

I don't like the morons, but I recognize they are what keeps me in a $30K a year job.

So bring on the secretaries that think their OS is Dell, at least I'm getting paid.

I wish it was still 1992, everyone lived in DOS, and no one knew what the internet was (except for geeky computer people, like us)
The great thing about DOS was that unless someone REALLY knew something about computers, people would stay away from a PC, cause that black screen with the flashing cursor would scare them away.

Now we have the Playskool OS which just invites people to poke and prod.

Hence the boom in technical support since the DOS days.
