How do people make money using E-boy?

From what I understand when a person is trying to sell something using E-boy they have to send merchandise to the 2nd party and then wait for them to send back the money. It seems to me thats a pretty risky way of doing business.

Is that really how the process works or is there a more secure way?

Anyone here ever buy or sell using e-boy?

I'm sure there are a lot of honest people in this world, but I just can't see myself sending someone some money on good faith. Whats to stop people from ripping each other off?

e-bay is a prohibited word, the mods have language filters in place so people can't link to auctions.

You don't have to ship your merchandise first. The seller sets the rules of the auction, just like in the FS/FT forum. If you want someone to pay first then specify that in the auction description. Just make clear what your policy is on payment, shipping, and warranty, and you shouldn't have any problems.

That's why they have feedback ratings--they're a good indication of trustworthiness. If you're buying a $5 CD from somebody it doesn't matter than much whether they've got +2 feedback or +200. But if you're buying something for $450, or a $65 action figure where it's important they accurately described the condition of the figure, then potential buyers would probably want to pay a bit more attention to the feedback rating and actual feedback comments.
