How do people make fun of Americans?

It's very hard to make fun of the US culture as a whole because it is so diverse.

Oh yes, to answer your question I hardly make fun of the Americans, most are good people. Unfortunately, a fair few I've met are very arrogant and short sighted.

As an American, I can honestly say a lot of Americans have no clue and are stubborn. Some I think don't even comprehend there is a world outside of the U.S.

I'm an American, and i love my country. But one true thing about America is that most of us, 98% or so, are so spoiled. I doubt anyone here at the forum could actually comprehend the life that people in afgahnistan live. Not even the most humble of us. Oh and our goverment can sometimes really suck. Not that i dislike a democracy, or the rebulicans and democrates. But i wish the would stop playing politics and actually do something sometimes. It gets tiring, but i'm grateful

I don't know if anyone here watches the tv show junkyard wars. The other night I saw an episode with an American team and a British team trying to build a device to clear "landmines" loaded with paint from a beach.

The British went with a very simple hand controlled design attached to a little volkswagon that moved very slowly and methodically across the beach searching for the landmines.

The Americans built a monstrosity using an old Army truck with a V-8 motor turning an even larger axle with chains attached that ripped up the sand so much you couldn't see the paint from the landmines.

The host commented on how the nationality of the teams and their approach to the mission seemed appropriate.



And yes...the Americans won.

Thats so true.

I went to Cuba last year for a couple of weeks holiday. When I told one of my American friends he said "Cuba - OMG! Don't they beat people in the street over there?" He was truely shocked that I dared to go to Cuba (which BTW, is an absolutely fantastic place).

Many American kids seem to be told lies at an early age and they automatically think they are true and in this case go through life thinking Cuba = hell hole.

Like the situation in Afan at the moment, the Americans go in, bomb hell outta the county with the sole intent of finding Bin Laden. When (and I guess if) you find him, you will clear out of the country and leave others to pickup the pieces and rebuilt the country.

That is wrong - America should play a joint part in helping rebuilt and resolve the problems in Afgahnistan. Just killing Bin Laden and his henchmen now won't stop repeats of Sept 11th in the future. If there is not a stable government left at the end of this, in a couple of years a milita group will take power, like the Taliban did and terrorism will once again thrive.

Since when does America leave countries to "pick up the pieces" themselves after the war? I think we are the only country to NOT do that. Who knows, maybe France will send over $15 bucks and 3 more soldiers...

Afghanistan isn't America's problem, it's the world's problem. The world is just too p*ssy to do anything about it.

And another thing, what exactly would we rebuild? Their rocks and dirtpiles, or the thriving economy they had before we got there and gave them back their freedom?
