how do online survey's work?

so I got this email sent to my school mail box, sending me a link to do online surveys and get paid for doing it. Basically, it doesnt list the details, but all it says is that they charge me a one time 29.95 dollars, and then they will send me survey's to my email to do.............and that is all.

anybody have any experience on this sort of stuff...................is it really that simple?
