how do newsgroups work??

ive been hearing a lot about newsgroups and how you can dl buncha stuff off of them, but i have no clue how to use them, can anyone help??? thanks!

thanks for the sites, i read em both, so now ive figured out that my school has a news server or whatever, but i cant figure out how to access it??

Now that you know how to access Newsgroups..just download Nomad Newgroup reader and enjoy. I am always amazed of how many people know nothing of newsgroups. I think it is the best kept secret on the net, even though it is probably one of the oldest features of the internet.

Go in yourt news reader and do a search of newsgroups...search for MP3, multimedia for tv show, movies, Image (for warez), erotica (for porn),

Newsgroups are great but for what may be better access for movies, software etc, may be IRC. But there is a bigger learning curve.

If you are using your schools news server, chances are it won't have the alt.binaries.yadayadayada groups that you are looking for.

You may have to pay for an external service, such as EasyNews or GigaNews.

actually there are a lot of the alt.binaries.simpsons ...or whatever, but im still havin trouble finding stuff but at least its getting easier to use.

yea, i dunno y i never tried to get into it, i think it has to do with how difficust it is to get started compared to programs like Morpheus and such.
