Giving the core of my p3 733 system to parents (hard drive, proc, mb, gfx) because it is really much better suited for what they do than for what i do

I wanta clear this with several people before i make bad mistakes like i did last time with my ati rage fury pro and gigabyte mobo

Heres what im looking at so far, to be purchaced after amd's march 5th price cuts, so hopefully cpu and gfx will be cheaper:

MSI K7T Turbo-R
Thurderbird 1ghz
Geforce2 GTS 32 Meg
IBM 75GXP 45gig HD
Globalwin FOP32-1

ill keep my current antec sx830 case, and 256meg of crucial pc133, sb pci512, klipsch promedias, and acer 77e monitor

i had sworn id never go ati again (i have a rage fury pro right now) but with the 45 gxp ill actually have the room to comftrobally dual boot with winme...so maybe i will do that, considering the 64 meg radeon is only $30 more than the 32 meg gts...

also, i currentally have as my "data" drive a 45 gig western digital 5400rpm drive, would it be a good idea or not to do raid0 with that and the 75gxp..or should i just wait til i can afford another 75gxp

Do NOT raid with a slow drive. It will basically bring your IBM speed down to the 5400, and basically double that TRANSFER speed.

i have klipsch promeidas which are 4 channel analog, i always thought the pci512 was a non-digital version of the sblive series, is this true?

ya, thats what i thought about raid with that drive, wasnt sure though, ill pick up another 75gxp sometime, considering i reformat usually every month, restriping wont be that big of a deal to me

SBLiveValue has a slightly better DAC and Processor which gives slightly better sound quality. Also, support wise, SBlive is great. And it should be cheap. Around $50 for a SBLive value, I expect.
