...Keep the client from pausing when I run scandisk or defrag?

I used to have it in the INI file to pause when those two were running, but then I removed that entry and restarted the client but it still pauses when I run those programs.

I had mine so it wouldnt pause during defrag, but it would make defrag take forever.

Drive's contents changed, restarting defragmentation error.

But then again I cant guarantee i know what the hell im doing:D

The client has been restarted many times since I made the change, and yet it still pauses.

I have the client in its own partition that is 5 megs in size. This way it takes only seconds to defrag and scandisk the drive so the client never writes to disk while defrag and scandisk are doing their dirty work.

Here is my ini file (in case it helps):

[triggers]
exit-flag-filename=
restart-on-config-file-change=yes

[rc5]
randomprefix=205
fetch-time-threshold=24
preferred-blocksize=33

[networking]
dialup-watcher=passive
encoding=
autofindkeyserver=no
keyserver=jator.2y.net
nofallback=true

[buffers]
frequent-threshold-checks=0
checkpoint-filename=f:\dnet\check

[misc]
project-priority=OGR,DES,CSC,RC5

[ogr]
fetch-workunit-threshold=10

[logging]
log-file-limit=weekly
log-file=
log-file-type=rotate

Virge: I think you are correct. I have never explicitly set my client to pause during defrag but it does pause.

Is there anyway to stop this? I lost about 8 hours of work last night because scandisk found a problem last night on its weekly scan, so the client stayed paused all night until I fixed the problem this morning.

set it to defrag/scan at a time when you can check on it if that's feasible.
I assume this is your personal machine.
