How do I use infrared port on PC?

Hey guys im trying to link my PC and my cellphone with the infrared port, but I dont know how to do it.. I cant even find where the infrared port is on this IBM r40 laptop, but I know I have one since its in my device manager

can anyone give me some help?

Look on IBM's website for a diagram or manual, it should show where it is

yeah ive tried looking on their website with no luck... and they are closed sat/sunday

The IR port is facing you on the left side of the front overhang. Picture (#4)
