How do I unlock the extra 4 pipelines in my 6800 GTO PCI-Express?

I got this thing for free, and have read that the extra 4 pipelines can be unlocked, making it run like a regular 6800 GT - doing a search just gave me results of people saying it COULD be done but not HOW.

So I ask - HOW?

lmao, sick response... look for a softmod for it... you could've just said how to do it instead of saying "it's possible"

Also, the softmod will only work if you're lucky, some 6800NUs are made with 6800GT/Ultra chips which have a defective quadrant, thus only 12 pipelines. They're clocked to 6800NU speeds and shipped out.

Of course, you bumped a two-week-old thread to add a useless reponse yourself, so I'm not sure where exactly that places you on the food chain. 😛

I believe there were several VERY long threads in the Video forum about this, including links to the software you need to attempt to enable the pipelines.

I did find one, don't know why it didn't come up in my first search, but it turns out Rivatuner is all that's necessary. Runs like a speedy charm now.
Thanks all...!
