How do I un-install Directx 8.0 ?

Dunno if his mail helped...if it didnt, just re-install your OS.

It will put a lesser version of DX on your computer....98 comes w/ 5.2 or something....Not sure right off hand what WinME comes w/ but less than 8 for sure.

You wont lose any info or any of your internet shortcuts, or email, etc. It will simply install over what you already have.

Yeah, I'm have better performance w/ dx8 w/ the ref geforce drivers.
