How do I temporarily remove a computer from my home network?

I really need some help because I'm totally lost when it comes to networking.
I tried to google it and searched the forums but I think my terminology is wrong so it turns up very little.

What I want to do is temporarily remove a computer from our wireless home network and then re-enable later. Is this even possible? I looked in our Westell 7500 router settings and couldn't find an option that did this. I there a program out there that can do this or maybe a cmd line option since I have the mac address.

Any help would be appreciated and if anyone needs clarification let me know. I will try my best to explain what I want to do.

I assume when you say "remove" you really mean "block" as you are trying to do this from the router and not from the PC itself.

The router should have a section named "MAC filtering" where you can permit and deny computers based on the MAC address. This should do what you want either by specifically allowing all of the other computers or by denying the computer in question.

Just checked the manual and on page 52 it covers MAC filtering.

Thanks for the quick response. I had to shutdown the computer in question for the night(bedtime) but I did find that setting in the routers configuration. I'll try it out in the morning and see if it works.

Right click on the Network Connections and chose Disable.

I could try that but won't it disable wifi for the whole house? If I cut my wifes Kindle off the network I will hear about it to no end.

Disabling the Network Connection on one specific computer only disables the specific computer, it has nothing to do with other computers/devices.

In a regular Home Network that is based on a Wireless Router all the Wireless computers/devices connect directly to the Router independent one from the other.

Easier still, you can disconnect from the network you are currently connected to. Click the network icon in the lower right bottom of your screen, click disconnect.

To reconnect, click the same icon, then click Connect.
