My room mate has Win 2k on his pc and wants to get rid of it. How can I tell if he has NTFS instead of fat?

Why do it the easy way when there is hard one???

1. Take a Win98se bootdisk
2. Put it in your FD drive (make sure the side with the round thingy in the middle is facing down)
3. Restart your comp
4. Bootup with the Win98se bootdisk
5. Now see if you can acces your harddrive from the DOS that comes on the bootdisk!!!
6. If you can acces it you're using FAT if not you're using NTFS

*This excellent method only works when finding out what filesystem your using under Win2k

while in Win2k, open explorer (not internet explorer), and right click on your hard drive, then select properties. under 'file system' will be how your drive is formated, ie.. NFTS, FAT32, FAT...
