How do I tell for sure my adsl service is on?

I am using a westell ethernet modem with a belkin nic and the modem gives me 3 green lights but I get no gateway or no server etc
I am using ethernet 300 software and trying to connect to centurytel service
I have never had adsl so I may be missing something very simple but first I would like to make sure they have the adsl turned on <g>
its suppose to be on but you know how that goes
