WHy not set up a webinar and have all of ATOT over?

Suits me if you've got a free webinar app you recommend. I've got my web conferencing software from work but not sure I want to put my name and place of business out for all Anandtech to see. :p

I am pretty much the Jesus Christ of Excel, and that's thanks to 15 years of self learning. No class taught me anything in Excel.

then can you give me some hints on how to self teach myself? It sounds like our learning methods are similar

If you are going to learn Excel get ASAP Utilities, free for personal use, pay if used in a company. Great add on that does everything. And I too learned Excel by myself over the years. To me for data manipulation there is nothing faster. Of course Access is much better at database management in general.

I learn new stuff all the time. For years I've been using

=CONCATENATE(E19," ",F19)

to combine two string cells. I was in a class last week for a totally differnet subject when the instructor did this:

=E19&" "&E19

I was like "Whoa! That's better."

It's pretty easy to use to a basic level. Very few people get beyond the basic level though. My wife took a stats course & I started looking at some of the more advanced things it does - I was pretty blown away.

I should be clear, since I'm offering, that my expertise stops short of VBA. If we do an AT webinar maybe somebody else would volunteer to tutor that part.

lol, I always use the CONCATENATE function as well, thanks for the tip.

Did you know what the #1 requested feature for Excel (and every other MS Office app) is? And has been ever since version 1?

It's a feature that already exists. MS says the #1 problem with office apps is people don't even know what they are capable of.

Well jeez, what is the #1 requested feature specifically? Can't just tease us like that!
