how do i tail my bare lead-ed fan

so i picked up a panaflo from svc. the fan has bare leads but came with a cable that would make it into a 3 pin. the problem is i dont know how to attached the bare leads to the adapter cable. do i just insert the leads into the holes on the adapter? (if i do from which direction; from the side opposite the rest of the cable or on the same side as the rest of the cable). i tried doing that the leads just slipped off too easily. i plan on putting this into my psu so i dont want the connection to get cut off.

You're supposed to pull the connection from the fan out (the bare wires) and connect the 3 pin adapter.

It needs to be attatched like any other electrical connection.
Match the wire colors, solder them together, and finish them with heatshrink. If no solder experience then twist the wires together well, and use electrical tape.

i didnt realize that you could pull it out....i thought the bare leads went into the connector itself

i'm i have to cut the cables off my existing psu fan and put on the male 3 pin adapter so that i can hook the fans up.
do you think splicing it directly or soldering them is the better solution? i dont have any electrical tape but what is heatshrink?

i'm lazy, i just splice using butt connectors and a crimper thing. stick ends of wires into this tube thing, and then crunch

For using in your power supply, I'd suggest using the bare wires and soldering (crimping/taping/whatever) to the wires that powered the original fan.
