That "canary yellow" or whatever it is is a god awful color for cars. I think MotionMan is on to something 😛

This is why if I lived in NYC, I'd drive a piece of crap beater. Or better yet, I'd just take the subway. I don't think I've ever seen a car from the city without scuffed up bumpers and dents all over. I think it's just a rule that if you own a car in NYC, unless you live in a building where everyone drives a ferrari, your car will get beaten to shit within a year. It's pretty much a losing battle to keep your paintjob intact.

If you retaliate in some way she's guaranteed to reretaliate use that as an opportunity to get hard evidence (video tape?) and then go down to a courthouse and get the right paperwork for suing.

Just tell her what it cost to repair the damage and that you want her assurance that it won't happen anymore. When she agrees to that and she will spring this on her. Tell her that you want her promise in writing. If you can get her to do that you could get what may amount to a signed confession for past and future occurances if you word it the right way. Just a thought and she probably won't go for it but worth a shot Ithink.

It sounds like you live in a shithole. Move the fvck away from there. Get your own garage or at least your own private driveway.

Yellow car = lose.

If you went through all the proper legal channels to find a fair solution to your problem and no one was willing to help, revenge is the only option.

Yeah I'm going to have to go with revenge on this one. Cutting her brake lines ought to do the trick.

1. Put her car up on blocks. I doubt she has a jack.
2. If there is a pillar or support for the building right beside her car, you could get a couple of friends over to pick up the back end of her car and slide it over so she's right up against the pillar. No matter which way she moves, she's gonna be scraping her door off.

Those ideas lack the plausible deniability like catastrophic loss of brake fluid in an old car.

I like the glue in the locks idea. If I couldn't get her to pay for the damages, I'd screw with her car mercilessly. Nails in the tires, pebble under the valve stem cap, cut the rubber wiper blades with a razor, vaseline on the wiper blades... The fun you can have is endless.

Well said.

I'm going to go in a completely opposite direction than anyone else.

My friend, listen to me; living in ANY city sucks donkey dick. NOBODY cares that you love your car. Nobody cares that you wash it by hand twice a week, wax it monthly and even CLAY BAR IT a few times per year. Your car is just "some car" to everyone but you.

Out of 100% of anyone that owns a vehicle, 90% of those people could care less if their car was covered in flourescent monkey shit that actually would yell at you if you tried to wash it off. To them, the car is just a personal bus that they don't have to share and they dont' care what it looks like.

I am nuts about my vehicles; I do all the above "cleaning stuff" and then some. I keep plastic bags in my truck to put on my shoes before I get in case they get muddy. Really.

You have no case against this woman. Her admitting to you is hearsay (heresay?) and she has no money. Slash her tires and the same cops that told you to go fuck yourself will be the first ones to bust down your door and beat you silly.

You will NEVER be able to properly care for a vehicle until you MOVE OUT OF THE CITY. Cities=enemy of car lovers.

Live in the burbs and you have a garage/driveway where the only dents you can get are the ones you're responsible for. When you go the supermarket/mall, park all the fucking way at the end of the lot, alone, and walk the 1/4mile to the front door. I did this when I lived in Omaha (what a sweet place...I miss it) and it worked out well.

Unfortunately I had to move back to a big city and deal w/this shit all over again.

The only thing you can do now is buy a big blanket/tarp and drape it over the windows on the drivers side and close the door(s), hopefully protecting against dings. Personally, I think the old hag is typical of the majority of vehicle owners and needs her POS car accidentally towed to an alley and burned. BUT she's old, broke, bitter, waiting to die and hates you b/c you're young and actually care about your car AND you had the NERVE to call her out about fucking up your car. The Grim Reaper is taking notes...she'll have an especially rough drag thru the Thorns Of Punishment on her way to her final destination.

In the meantime, you can get the hell out of NYC...what a stinky and evil place. I grew up there so I should know.

Burbs, baby. Burbs.

Take her plates off at night and call a towing company to cruise the lot looking for unlicensed vehicles to tow.
