How do i stop word from hiding by menu items??

basically what the title says... it likes to hide things on my menus, and makes me press the stupid little down arrow to make the full menu appear. Anyone know how to turn it off so I get the whole menu immediately?

i hate these ridiculous "features" they think people will like. Who actually enjoys the menu hiding?

Try docking toolbars over one another instead of side-by-side. You can also customize the toolbars, removing or adding buttons you use and discarding ones you do not use.

Word 2003 provides a lot of toolbar customization options; earlier Word/Office versions are not as flexible.
