How Do i stop Systemworks?

Yea, so, sometimes I need to cut out programs to eek a bit more speed out of my machine, and I have set the Antivirus options to off, but all the processes in Task Manager wont just die like I want them to. How do I spank Systemworks into submission?!

i just use antiVir, it's free, unobtrusive and works for me but i think kaspersky is the most effective.

give it a little time and mechBgon will be by with some info 😉

edit--oh yeah, there is a large stickied thread in software on antiv programs. and yes, stopping norton for me was a fresh OS install back in the say.

you can't just uninstall and re-install only NAV? At least that isn't obtrusive even if some call it ineffective. I think systemworks isn't worth your resources. I've got NAV + MS antispyware utility and it's more than sufficient. But then again I was never the one to have probs with spyware and/or viruses.

edit: here's the thread for u if you need to educate yourself on choices. But like I said, my setup works fine. And don't forget to check if your network is secure

This is what I know based on my 2002 version of SystemWorks. During the installation of SystemWorks, you have the option of which components to install. So, uninstall SystemWorks, then reinstall but select NAV as the only component go install. You'll still have SystemWorks on your Programs menu but it will basically only contain NAV.
