How do I stop registry errors when overclocking too high?

I want to try going higher this weekend, but I don't want any of those annoying registry errors when I do.
Does anybody know how to stop them, stop from backing up a "good registry"?
I hate reinstalling!

I keep a ratty, old Quantum 340 meg drive just for OC'ng. I just
have a minimum install of the OS and a few benchmarking progs. on
it. If the registry get trashed while I'm trying to OC then who cares?
I just wipe it, re-install (at default cpu speed) and have at it again!

I use system commander to create an installation on another drive that I can trash. Believe me, I do it alot too. Hahaha

You may not have to reinstall just because you get the 'registry' and update message. Don't push the button! Simply turn the PC off or use the hardware reset, then clock lower. This message doesn't always mean the registry is actually bad - just that your O/C'ed Window thinks it is... Doesn't always work but often. Lark

If you're getting registry errors then you're overclocking too high.

However, Lark is right. Clock back down and reboot. Usually works fine.

Hehehehe.... At least I found the similar problem with my system lately about restoring good registry then it wipes out everything.. I mean everything out of my hard drive except empty shell of Windows98 with standard VGA video driver, what a bull...crap! Anyhow, the problem with my case, there are some system file that controls and monitors the registry files right before booting windows. They are in the C: drive if you scroll down a little. I deleted "ALL" except autoexec.bat, Command.com, and Win386.swp I have never seen that troulbe-making or trouble-creater so-called backing up registry files ever since. The system works perfectly fine and no loss data! hehe.. I gotcha sucker!!!! I blasted em, trashed em, and deleted out of trash can. Ha!!!

There is a price you pay sometimes when overclocking. 2 words will save you:

Norton Ghost

It takes the fear out of f_cking with your system.
