How do I stop Google +?

I don't want google +, I don't use it. I tried to delete it, but now it says I can't delete my profile without deleting my entire gmail account.

FUCK this is annoying.

Add to that, once I unlink everything, Google slips in some secret pop-ups that once clicked, it starts linking everything and regenerating your Google+ account.

They have to now trick us or blackmail us into Google +? D:

Delete my entire Google+ profile

Your Google+ profile will be deleted along with other services and data that depend on your Google+ profile.

What to do:

Sign in to Google+.
Click your full name or email address in the upper right corner of your screen.
In the Account Management section, click Delete profile and remove related Google+ features.
Select Delete your entire Google profile.

Listen, and understand. That Gogle+ is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

Just don't use it?

I want my email account to reflect my personal info, but I don't want Google + to use my personal info.

I guess I should create an anonymous GMAIL account and then just use that and let it create a Google+ account with that info.

Granted I do already have like 3 GMAIL accounts...

Not the end of the world here obviously

Yesterday I was trying to leave a comment on a YouTube video and YouTube threw up a dialog box explaining changes to Comments. Changes which included crossposting YT comments to Google+. So I acknowledged and went to type in the comment but YT insisted I sign in first. But I was already signed in. 😕 I gave up.
I think Google's trying to force me to create a Google+ account if I wish to continue to comment on YT videos. They may have sneakily created one for me already, for all I know. ugh

Unless you're clicking "Name+" at the upper right corner of gmail, who gives a shit? Nobody is forcing you to use google plus. You don't even see it unless you click it.

That's like saying that you want to delete Yahoo even though you never go to yahoo.com.

We are the Google+. All your services will be assimilated. Your biological and technological distinctiveness will be added to our advertising profile. Resistance is futile.

Haha, I just realized all of those nasty remarks that people leave in the Youtube comments are now showing their real names 😀

Dummy account. Or don't use Google. "One Google" is Google's new motto. Everything revolves around + now.

LOL, strange. I had a similar thing a few weeks ago that I posted here regarding my Youtube account.

I believe Google is up to some funny stuff now. They're trying to merge all their big sites, such as Youtube and Gmail for whatever reason. They are also insisting we use our names, though you have to choose to not to. In fact, I accidentally created an account while trying to choose not to display my name.

Solution? I just go less to Youtube.

It seems the only way to stop using it now is to completely cease to use Google products. I wonder if there is an alternate video site out there that is as popular or at lease close to popular as youtube. To me that is the biggest one. I have a profile, occasionally post videos and overall don't really want to give it up. But I accidentally got sucked into the G+ thing too because it kept asking for the real name, and I did not realizing providing it (a fake one) actually created a G+ account and now it can't be reversed without deleting youtube... which I will eventually do, because now anything I do or post on there probably gets broadcasted to all my friends. How google knows who my friends are, is what makes this thing so creepy. Time to just stop using it all.

I also have an adsense account which makes me decent money, I eventually need to look at an alternate service. Though the issue with these ad services is they track people and if I do what is morally right I need to just dump these services and try to do a direct ad thing instead.

Vimeo is one of the few that's anywhere close to as big. And it's still not even close to being close. I think DailyMotion is up there as well.

EDIT: DailyMotion gets more traffic

lol just got a notice and another friend added me. At least Facebook has the decency of the request system where you have to accept.

Being 'added' on G+ means absolutely nothing. It's not a reciprocal system like Facebook where if your name is listed on someone else's list then it means you're their friend (which is why you need to accept if someone send you a friend request). In this aspect G+ is more like Twitter where a celebrity can have a million of followers without even personally knowing 0.01% of them.

I get added by stranger about 3-4 times a week (mostly because they thought my email address is their friend's), and they see nothing on my profile page because I don't share anything to public.

This is only a problem if you want it to be.

Log in to Gmail, and you might get them wanting you to agree to adding Google+ (it's sporadic). Try to do anything with Google services on your phone/tablet, and you should expect to need to opt out of G+. If you don't see it much, you're clearly not doing much with Google.
