If using SETIDRIVER, make sure the Create SETIlog.csv is checked. Then look for the SETIlog.csv file in your SETI folder. It can be opened in Excel.

The SetiLog.csv will be in the same directory as you put SetiDriver.

Once you set it up to go through a queue, the queue will upload/download the stuff from Berkeley for you, then you get it from the queue. I have mine set so that you will have 20 days worth of WUs for you, in case Berkeley goes down, and it has never been down that long before! You will then upload/download work units from the queue, it's like an extra buffer between you and Berkeley. I have suggested in my PM to download about 3 days worth from me, then there will be the 20 days from me, so you will have up to about 23 days worth of production if anything happens.

Many many members will tell you how important it is to have a good stock of WUs, because many times there have been outages (fiber cables being cut, server outages, router problems, bandwidth shortages - now solved thanks to a nice fat 100mbit pipe) that have lasted quite a time, and many people had personal caches running out and also the (previously) main queue that OrangeKid runs also ran dry, which is why we have so many other queues

btw, I had to knock my processor speed down 50mhz for the time being as it seemed slightly unstable. I'll push it a bit more in a few days. Does SETI rely on pure processor speed, or does the memory bandwidth help as well? Just wondering if I should run at 2.7Ghz with my RAM at X3 or at 2.6Ghz with the RAM at X4.

I've got a P4 at 2.6Ghz but the times for my seti WU's seem to be between 3:40 and 4:00hrs when I 'm not doing much else on the PC. I was wondering if this was ok or should they be a little quicker?

I would say they should be a little lower, but I am not sure how the P4's are doing on SETI thesedays.. my AthlonXP @ 1674MHz (2000+) pulls WU times between 2:47 and 3:14

so I am not sure if the P4 is worse clock for clock than the AthlonXP but I would guess your times should probably be lower.. I'm not 100% sure though. that's just comparing to my rig.

Seti LOVES high FSB and RAM speed. You will probably notice the computer is a little faster and more responsive if you have it at 2.6 with RAM x4 than 2.7GHz with RAM x3.

I'm running a P4 2.133 GHz, 133 MHz FSB, CAS2 DDR266 and I get around 3:40 for an average WU.
