How do I show the framerate in Q3?

I'd like to see how my system stacks up to others and I want to see how many fps mine will do in q3 like they always use in the benchmarks but as I don't really play it alot I don't know how to do it. Thanks

Go into the console('~' key) and type /set cg_drawfps 1

If you want to do some "REAL" benchmarking then do this.

Download your favorite benchmarking demo like quaver.dm3 or nv15demo.dm3. Anandtech likes to use the built in demo001.dm3

go to the game's console ("~&quot
then type

timedemo 1

next, run your chosen demo- lets assume its "quaver.dm3" and its in the baseq3\demos folder. Type:

demo quaver

The demo will run at a very fast rate. After its over, open the console (~) and look at your FPS. =-)
