Hello all,
I know a little bit of networking theory, but have very little hands on experience. Both computer have access to the internet, but I am unable to access either computer from the other.
When I go to Network Connections folder on the WinXP system, I see three entries:
Network Bridge (IP 192.168.1.101, Subnet 255.255.255.0, Gateway 192.168.1.1)
Local Area Connection (n/a)
1394 Connection (n/a) is this firewire???
Both computers belong to the same workgroup (XMEN) but have different names (MAGNETO/JUGGERNAUT)
The router is set up as a DHCP server
I'm not sure what to do from here. I made a network setup disk via the WinXP network configuration wizard, but it does not work on the Win98SE system.
Also, if the 1394 connection is a firewire, why would it be bridged to the Ethernet adapter? Did WinXP bridge the wrong adapters? If so, how do I fix or change to get WinXP to see the other system on the LAN?
Thanks!!!
