I'm always tinkering with new things, and I've decided to use one of my older computers as an application, file and print server. I've never done this. I have win98,win2k pro, and linux. Do you need any special software? How would you set it up. The computer is a celeron566. Thanks.

Install Windows 2000.

Create a file share.

Your computer is now a file server.

Not worth it.

To set up a print server, connect a printer to the new machine. Install the drivers. Choose to share the printer during the Add New Printer wizard. You now have a print server.

If you plan on sharing with win98, make sure you do the 'windows update' security fix so everyone can tinker with your files.

PQwak2 doesn't work with people with this patch.
