i have a lotta stuff running and i want some things to run using a lower process priority and others to run at a high priority...i know that i can change this maually in the task manager, but is there anyway i can have the prog start up in as a high priority or low priority automatically? i think in win2k you could edit the shortcut using: "start /high programname.exe" but it doesnt seem to work in XP

don't know about setting priorities, not sure if this is what you wanna do, but if you type in services.msc in the RUN box, a list of services appear, that you can disable, run manual or run automatic....does that help?

Trashman, not quite what i was looking for...that is to set the startup properties of the system services...i just wanna be able to double-click a shortcut and have it start a program with a high process priority so that it is given more cpu time/power...you could do this manually each time by opening the task manager, going to the processes tab, right-clicking a process, and set the desired priority. but i was hoping to have it done automatically like when launching a game
