How do I set priority for a program automatically?

My computer's been doing some weird crap lately where it bogs down every now and then running my games. It's really annoying and I'm not sure what's causing it, but in the meantime I've found that if I set the game process to a higher priority the problem goes away. The only problem is that in order to do this I have to minimize the game, go to Task Manager and set the priority from there. I was wondering if there's any way in Win2k to attach a command line to a shortcut that will let me automatically set the priority to something beyond normal. If not, can anybody think of anything else that could let me do that?

Gracias,

the better solution would be to find what else would be bogging things down

try adaware or spybot (google for them) if you use any P2P stuff that may have spyware installed

check your running services and see whats going on

Checked my services and there's nothing running that shouldn't be. I even shut down AVG to see if that was causing it; no luck. As for spyware, I haven't installed anything that would have it but I'll check anyway.

How do you use "start /?" What's the syntax? Like if I wanted to make it high priority what would I type?

He was saying if you run 'start /?' if will give you all the parameters. Long story short, create a batch file that runs 'start filename.exe /high'

Tight, muchos gracias.

BTW, SpyBot and AdAware found a only 5 offending programs between them. Removing them didn't help at all :/
