I wanna see if windows xp searching for an IP is causing my startup to slowdown.

When I get to the networking section, what numbers do I use to makeup an IP adress and subnet mask?

What IP subnet is the rest of your network using? IE: 192.168.x.x?

Well... if you just want to set an IP address to it for that option set the ip to 192.168.1.1 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 (And not to permanently use.... Which means, you may not be able to access everything till you have it start picking up an IP address again)
