How do I select a mortgage company

I got mine through wells fargo. Payments are done with a quick and easy transfer made online from any of my other accounts.
 
Talk to you real estate agent if you have one. They can generally recommend one or two for you.

Not really. They generally know someone they have a good experience with. The last thing an agent wants to do is send customers to a crappy mortgage broker/agent.

Why ATOT insists that real estate agents are evil is beyond me.
 
Our first real estate agent a few years ago was a complete moron. And, when we asked for a recommendation, she recommended we use (whatever that site is where you get 4 lenders competing for your business.)

My advice: if you have a realtor who makes such a suggestion, get a new realtor. As far as picking a company online - stay away. Stay far away.

And, if the mortgage broker who worked for us just happens to read this - if you ever showed up on my doorstep, you'd never be heard from again.
