How do I rip audio from a Vdieo asf file>?

I'm trying to get the audio only format of an ASF file.

what program would i use>?

womhow, winamp is able to open it, and play the audio portion.

yet how do i get it to output a new file of audio only?

VirtualDub 1.3c or earlier (had to pull ASF support from subsequent versions due to MS restrictions). Open the file in VirtualDub and select File->Save WAV. The output file will be given the extension .wav, but its actual format will be whatever audio stream was contained within the ASF (usually MP3 or WMA).
