HOw do I remove the Qhost virus?

Been trying to download "patches" for hours
WHat do I need to fix this "q-host" virus?
Do I need a special version of Norton?
Help Greatly appreciated

this isnt really a hardware question is it?

if you were to go to the software forum i might tell you to try adaware 6, it's pretty good at removing stuff, also if Nortan antiV detects it can it be quarenteened? often with a nasty virus thats the best you can do without the big reformat.

Edit: though I've never dealt with Qhost
 
Have you checked any of the AV websites???

McAfee has instructions, including manual removal. Remember to turn off your System Restore so you don't keep reinfecting yourself.

Actually, it's a trojan, so you might also try here.


And for the record, Adaware is great for removing spyware crap, but it does NOTHING for viruses. It's not an AV product, nor does it even pretend to be...

That will keep ya busy for awhile 😀, but the AV website is a good idea
