My fiancee's Gateway was registered to her ex and it keeps saying logged on as her ex.

Use Regedit, go to LOCAL MACHINE, Software, Microsoft, Windows, Current Version and edit the Registered Owner & Organization.

Tauren, does Windows prompt you to logon at startup? If not then I suspect that auto logon may have been enabled. Look in Control Panel for the TweakUI applet.

No, he's too much of a boob to even know what a GUI is, let alone Tweakui. It's the registered user's name that needs to go.

And thanks RobSan!

If you get a logon prompt with his name in it go delete the *.pwl files form c:\windows and this will go away.
If you need to edit the registered user name, just do a search for his name as Windows sees it and replace each instance with yours.
I am sure there is more than just the Registered user's name with his data in it.
