Maby it's stuck because of the thermal grease. If you can twist it back and forth try that. Or try priming it for a little while, get it nice and hot, turn off computer, then try taking it off.

Pull up on the black levers on either side, pull up the ZIF lever and then twist the CPU from the heastsink...done. Don't touch the pins and be gental.

What you need to do is flip the levers over.
then each corner of the black plastic bracket that has the levers on it. Has little
"hooks" that you need a small flathead screwdriver to get out of the grooves on the mounting base. Look closely with a little flashlight. It's easy...The heat sink should come right out once you have all four corners loose.

no prob. just get a little flashlight in there and wiggle it. You won't hurt anything. And you can see the part you are moving. the little plastic barbs face inwards towards the heatsink. you'll need to pry them out very gently. just enough to get it to slide up.

maxspeed996 do you have AIM? I'm still having some issues here, I dont quite see it. The two switched i flipped were the white ones on top of the HSF. Now it seems there are plastic things over each side of the HSF holding it in place and I dont see how to remove these.

sending an edited pic back to your email. the white arrows point to the legs on the plastic bracket. I put little yellow lines where they separate. you need a little flat head screwdriver to put where the yellow lines are , and the little nubs that are holding it on will be able to slide up and out of the grooves.

oh yea , if you don't mind. Let me check out some pictures of your Freezer on there. And let me know what you think of it.
I have two other computers in my network at home that I have hooked up for friends to come over and both are p4 2.4 processors and I've been overclocking them for fun , but they run hot. I can get them to 3.1ghz but the system hangs. The most reliable overclock I've had with those are 2.88ghz but that's with stock heat sinks....so i'd be willing to throw a bit of cash into them to keep them neat for my buddies.

Sure, I never made any temp reads on this system, but I'll let you know what speedfan tells me afterwards... this is a stock 3.0C that I'll keep at stock ( i have crap for ram). Just a note, you might want to move quick, these Freezers are on sale at SVC! :)

so far its at 32C idle...I ended uptaking thefans out of theback of my case and having the only fan be this Freezer pro sucking air in the back. This system with the freezer and the ATI Silencer is dead silent except for the hard drives (pretty much).

Pics up, albeit bad ones  My roommates camera doesnt focus too well at close distances....

Anyways, with the only 2 fans being my AC pieces I REALLY cant believe how silent this system has fallen. Finally the HTPC doesnt bug the heck out of me.
