Just stick Win98 in your rom drive, type d: (if that's your rom drive letter), at the d: prompt, type 'setup'. Don't forget to press enter after each command. If you get the crazy message that it can't install because there's already an OP installed, rename or delete the file 'Win.com' in Windows directory and start over.

do you have the cab files on your hard drive? If so just go to the folder with the cab files and type setup. Otherwise you need access to the cd-rom drive. Go to the cd-rom drive by typing it's drive letter and type setup and it should work.

When I type the drive letter, D: at the C prompt, I get "invalid drive specification".

How do I get to the D drive?

Restart, hit del, go to the bios setup ang set the first boot option (default A:) to cd-rom.
save and exit.
insert the cd of WME and install.
Don't forget to set it back to a: at the very first restart after the installation begins.
