I have an Asus K8N-E Deluxe mobo, and I used the utility on the CD to flah my bios from version 1001 to 1004. Now the flashing was succesful, but my current drivers are no longer compatible, and the replacements for them were defective. Now can anyone either tell me how to restore my bios, or where to get matching drivers for v.1004? I can't use the utility since it will only flash to a newer version, it says I have to use AsusDos but that ifle does nothing for me.

Hi,

You might want to try the forums attached to this - they have lots of expertise in all things BIOS related.

Good luck,

My buddy just told me that I need to get into MS Dos during start up by inserting a boot disk.

Hi,

Yes - presuming you have the correct flash utility. Be sure now - using the wrong program can be disasterous.

Good luck,

Ok whew, luckily my manual had instructions. The bios is set to the old version again, but it's still not functioning correctly; but I DO know why. As I updated my bios, from 1001 to 1004, my old driver became obsolete. I needed the new driver, which required SP1, which I didn't have at the time. Now that SP1 is installed, the driver functions fine.

What's strange, however, the old driver didn't work either even though I got the old bios.
