I can't figure out how to do it. I tried lowering the WAV volume but thta still lowers the whole system sound. I also googled it. Any ideas?

how dare you use AIM. check out trillian - its way better, you can change the sounds and everything
but to answer your question there is no way
ive tried

I know exactly what you're talking about. Here's my solution:
Go to C:\Program Files\AIM95\Sounds
Open those files in Windows Sound Recorder.
Under Effects, you can lower volume. Do it however many times you like, save the file and there you go.
Lower volume aim chimes. 🙂
