How do I recovery a password from a NT/2000/XP machine?

I recall that there was a free software that can recovery any lost administrator password in a NT/2000/XP machine?

Does anyone know of any? Or can recommend one? The one I saw that was posted not too long ago was available as a boot disk or CD bootable image that can recover the administrator password?

Thanks for your help.

Sunbelt software makes NTACCESS but it ain't free. Sorry. I'm not aware of any freeware that does that sort of thing.

There are plenty of programs out there that can do that for free. Dig around google for "lost administrator password" or "recover administrator password"

Thanks, I've done that but I'm very hesitant about downloading and installing software from "unknown" companies. I was hoping someone would mention a software that they had actually used (thats FREE) and would recommend it.

Anyone? I've seen a post for that, but I wasn't sure if it was here or some other forums.

Your recommendations are greatly appreciated.
