How do i prevent thieves from breaking into the trunk of my car?

i have a 93 sentra. somebody stuck something in the space where the cylinder of the lock meets the car and popped open my trunk and stole my toolkit.

what can i do to try to prevent anyone else from doing it?

Get a better lock. I know someone who just has a standard combination lock on their trunk.

Hide a dead fish in there. After about three days, no one will go near it.

I have a lot of expensive stereo equipment in my car, I took receipts for everything I had to the insurance co. and they made photocopies, so if someone steals my sh!t, big deal.. insurance man will buy me new better stuff

Connect an electronically triggered flash. Set it up so that it triggers a xenon strobe placed near by when you touch the car. The electric field caused by thief sets off a trigger on xenon strobe set in a fake camera mounted to nearby object. The theif will think he's been photographed and run before he does anything to it.
