How do I prevent someone from playing wow?

If the parents really feel it's that important, then they can grow a spine and deal with it.

But who cares? As long as his grades stay up, he'll be okay. Anyone who can get sucked into a 12-hour day habit probably isn't the most social person in the first place. I would just stay out of it and let them fix their own problem. I'm assuming he's on summer break now, so there is no reason to be concerned. Hell, if it wasn't for sleep and (required) community service, I would be on a computer at least that long every day.

As much as I dislike the OP's politico leanings, you can flash a GF2 to whatever core/mem specs that you like, with a proggy that YOU can find on teh intraweb. I'm not sure how the 2D would work, however.

Your Cousins need to seriously evaluate their parenting strategy.

1) physically remove the computer and return only when the boy agrees to reverse the account priviledges and remove the damn game.
2) delete the game until the boy agrees to some structure...i.e., 4 hours a week only after his chores are done and on weekends during the school year.
3) go get some parenting counseling...jeez.

Wow, if I would have tried that crap when I was young, I would have gotten a smack on the face and the computer thrown out the window. Tell the parents to grow a pair and quit screwing around.

That's some sh!ttiest parenting. When I was on my computer too long as a kid, they said "get off and go do something else", and I did because they were the rules. Breaking any rules would always come back to bite me in the ass.
